Stiftelsen Det Norske Veritas (DNV) is a classification society organized as a foundation, with the objective of “Safeguarding life, property, and the environment.

Lloyd’s Register Type Approval is an impartial certification service providing independent third-party Type Approval certificates attesting to a product’s conformity with specific standards or specifications, and verification of an appropriate production quality system. It is based on a design review and type-testing or, where type-testing is inappropriate, a design analysis. It provides unbiased, third party verification of a product’s conformity to the producer’s specification, and national and international standards, assists in ensuring an appropriate level of product safety.

Founded in 1956, China Classification Society (CCS) is the only specialized organization of China that provides classification services. CCS provides independent, impartial and integral classification and statutory services to ships and offshore installations, for the promotion and safeguarding of the safety of life and property at sea and for the prevention of pollution to the marine environment.
